Out of stock
In 90% condition which is outstanding for a WW2 Tokarev, we have a 1944 dated Izhevsk Arsenal marked Soviet Red Army TT-33 Tokarev Pistol. The bore is very nice and the pistol is all matching except for the period correct magazine. 1944 dated Tokarevs are very scarce in North America, most of the ones that we encounter are 1941 and earlier dated guns that we captured by the Germans during Operation Barbarossa in 1941. By 1944 the Germans were not capturing too much soviet equipment, it was pretty much the other way around! You will notice the wartime expedient course checkered wood grips they started to appear in 1944 and they did not go back to the plastic grips until 1945. You will notice that the Lanyard loop is removed that is commonly seen on many German captured pistols and is a possible clue that this one was indeed a German capture. As I spoke of earlier this is a great piece to own from the perspective of the 1944 date, the Red Army was really pouring it on and this pistol certainly was there when they rolled west.
