In excellent outstanding mint completely matching down to the screws condition, with a mint bore as well, we have a Museum Grade example of the Famous Mauser Model 1871 Cavalry Carbine. This carbine is unit marked to the 2nd Royal Bavarian Chevau-légers, known as the “Taxis” a light Cavalry Unit. The carbine is dated 1877/1882 and was manufactured by V.C.Schilling in Suhl. This is an outstanding example with mint metal and stunning stock cartouches, everything you would want to see in one of these firearms.  These carbines in this top condition are highly elusive and rarely offered for sale, this is a prime example of the cavalry weapon that saw some service right through the end of WW1 and some were even said to have been used by the Volksturm at the end of WW2.
