This is a very scarce and extremely desirable Mauser Oberndorf made 1943 production byf43 coded Mauser K98k Rifle with the very scarce and seldom seen Elm Wood Stock. These stocks were used on a trials or experimental basis on some of the K block production rifles and are also known to have been used on sniper rifles as well. Elm is a very stable wood like Walnut, the only disadvantage is that is is extremely difficult to work with tools due to the hardness and density of the wood. The rifle is completely matching, still with the original sling and has an excellent bore. The rifle is totally un-messed with and the cartouches are quite visible and clear. This is a top condition example of a very scarce and avidly sought after Elm Wood stocked 98k and is a real find!
