IN 90% COMBAT CAPTURED CONDITION, ALL MATCHING TO INCLUDE EVEN THE FACTORY ORIGINAL MAG! HERE IS THE FACTORY 66 MADE, 1966 DATED CHI COM TYPE 54 TOKAREV PISTOL THAT WAS CAPTURED IN 1967 AND BROUGHT BACK BY LT CLYDE E. NICHOLSON WHO WON THE BRONZE STAR IN ACTION ON 11, APRIL, 1967 IN THE IRON TRIANGLE DURING THE VIETNAM WAR. LT NICHOLSON WHO WAS FROM WASHINGTON DC WAS A YOUNG AFRICAN AMERICAN OFFICER WHO LED HIS COLUMN OF APC’S WHEN IT WAS ATTACKED BY A HOSTILE FORCE OF THE ENEMY. LT NICHOLSON DISMOUNTED THE VEHICLE AND KILLED APPROX 40 VC WITH AN M60 MACHINE GUN AND GRENADES. FOR THIS ACT HE WAS AWARDED THE BRONZE STAR WITH A V. ONE CAN ONLY SPECULATE THAT PERHAPS HE SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN A SILVER STAR OR DSC BASED UPON THE PREVAILING VIEWS OF THE TIME. HE MADE A CAREER IN THE ARMY AND RETIRED AS A MAJOR. ALONG WITH THIS VERY NICE PISTOL THERE IS A COPY OF BOTH THE CITATION AND THE AWARD, PLUS, WE FOUND IN OUR RESEARCH A NEWSPAPER PICTURE OF HIM IN ACTIVE COMBAT ABOUT TWO WEEKS BEFORE HE WON THE BRONZE STAR IN 1967. WE HOPE THAT THE CARETAKER OF THESE ITEMS WILL HELP TO KEEP ALIVE THE MEMORY OF THIS BRAVE MAN’S ACTIONS IN THE FACE OF ENEMY ACTION. THIS IS A TREASURED ARTIFACT OF THE VIETNAM WAR.
