In very externally rough combat salty condition, we have an October 1915 production Springfield Armory M-1911 US Army Service Pistol. It is completely Factory Original with the exception of the magazine; all parts exhibit the correct “s” marking and MOST IMPORTANTLY THE FACTORY ORIGINAL BARREL IS STILL THERE! That’s $1000 bucks right there.
This pistol just came out of the woodwork, surprisingly it came from a yard sale down in southwestern Virginia the area that the men of the famous 29th Division came from. We believe that it was brought back from WWII was possibly carried by someone in the 29th Infantry division and may have seen action in both world wars with this division. Normally we do not take on pistols in this condition, however we felt because of the originality of it and the fact that it certainly saw action very likely at Normandy it would have great Appeal to many of our clients. The price is certainly a real attraction as well to get a Springfield Armory 1911 this complete and un-messed with.
