Description

IN 92% ORIGINAL CONDITION WE HAVE A NICE EXAMPLE OF A VERY HARD TO FIND LATE 1913 MADE COLT 1911 US ARMY PISTOL. THIS PISTOL WAS IN A SHIPMENT OF 500 THAT WAS SENT TO SPRINGFIELD ARMORY ON DEC 3, 1913. THE GUN IS 100% CORRECT INCLUDING THE VERY HARD TO FIND ORIGNAL BARREL. THIS PISTOL FEATURES THE EARLY SHORT HAMMER AND WAS PROBABLY ONE OF THE LAST PISTOLS WITH THIS BEFORE THE SWITCH TO A LONGER HAMMER. ALTHOUGH NOT A MINT STUNNER THIS IS A VERY ATTRACTIVE HONEST PISTOL IN A CONDITION THAT HAS A LOT OF ATTRACTION. IT REALLY LOOKS LIKE IT WAS THERE AND DID IT AND IT HAS A LOT OF ROMANTIC APPEAL EVEN TO ME. THESE GUNS ARE REALLY HARD TO FIND WITH MUCH MORE FINISH THAN THIS, THERE WERE NOT ALOT OF THEM AROUND AND THEY STAYED IN SERVICE RIGHT THROUGH WW2. IF YOU WOULD LIKE A NICE COLT THAT COULD HAVE CHASED PANCHO VILLA AND THEN SAT IN THE TRENCHES OF FRANCE IN WW1 THEN THIS WOULD BE A GREAT GUN TO HAVE.
