If you collect O.S.S. equipage, this is certainly one of the most famous and sought after items, the OSS Stiletto with the Pancake flapper sheath. These sterile knives were based upon the British Fairbairn Sykes Fighting Knife but they were made by The Landers, Fray & Clark Company of New Britain, CT. This is an exceptional example with a near perfect blade. You will note that the rubber O ring has deteriorated and “melted” onto the handle. I have never seen a real example in pristine condition that this has not occurred. These knives are just never located this complete and un-messed with and this is a very important artifact from the clandestine operations of WW2.
