Description

This is the only G date J.P Sauer Rifle that we have seen in 30 years, they are extremely rare to non-existent; there were only 11 known to be in collections in the Karem and Steves book.  This example is all matching except for the rear action screw, otherwise it is completely factory original.  There is a small chip of wood missing on the top of the stock at the left side of the action area but it is not visible and is not a detraction.  We have in excellent minus original condition an extremely rare J.P Sauer S/147/G Variation III K98k Service Rifle.  The stock is an extremely attractive tiger striped walnut with very sharp cartouches.  This is in the ‘f” block and as you may known there were less than 50,000 of this rifle produced. Very few have survived and this is the only one that we have observed, it has been in a privately collection for at least 30 years.  G date rifles with this code are among the most allusive and to get one with this degree of originality and in this fine condition is absolutely unheard of.  This is a unique and singular chance to get a rifle that few will ever have in there collections.
