In 96% very attractive condition, we have a fine example of a 1910 production Colt 1903 Pocket Hammerless .32 Auto Pistol. This pistol is a very early Type III variant and sports the early fragile high polish oven blue Finish and bright fire blued small parts. The bore is decent but not mint. The finish used on pistols at Colt’s during this time frame was not particularly durable so finding one in this high condition is just not easy to do.
The Colt 1903 Pocket Hammerless is certainly one of the most ubiquitous small automatic pistols of the 20th Century. They could be found in anywhere on the globe and were very popular with military officers in almost any Army in the World. In the lore of Americana they were carried by Gangsters, bootleggers and anyone who needed an easily carried piece of iron. No collection should be without several versions of this storied pistol.
