If you collect French WWII military arms from the period before the June 1940 Armistice, this is a very important find for you. In 96% condition and fully French Army Rigged out, we have a Spring, 1940 French Army Issued Mab Modele D Pistol. The Serial number is 47,443. The reference books estimated that the Nazi occupation production began at 47,000, but it occurred a bit later. You will notice that the holster is very similar to the type used with Unique Pistols, however it is a bit longer to accommodate the longer Mab.
This Pistol was a WWII vet bringback. It probably was surrendered and used by the Germans but just as easily could have seen use with the Vichy or occupied French Government or even the resistance. Pre Fall of France Military Issued French pistols are very scarce and this is a very hard to find example.
