Description

In 96-97% condition, we have a very hard to find non-import marked Smith & Wesson 1937 Brazilian contract .45 acp Service Revolver.  This is from the last run of these pistols in 1946 and is very high in the serial range which probably accounts for the excellent state of preservation.  This is an all matching example with a mint bore.  nearly all example of these revolvers are import marked and reworked and in rough condition which makes this one an exceptional example.

These revolvers saw combat action in WWII with the Brazilian troops that fought in Italy and of course saw extensive heavy use in Brazil until they became obsolete in the 1970’s.  not an easy item to find this nice.  This revolver includes a letter from the Sao Paulo Brazil, Police and Military Museum documenting it’s use in Brazil.  If you have a Brazilian used weapon, we can put you in contact with this museum to obtain a letter.
