SOLD ROCHESTER NEW YORK POLICE ISSUED & MARKED COLT DETECTIVE SPECIAL, EARLY 1935 PRODUCTION, VERY SHARP!

In 96% condition, we have a very clean 1935 Colt Detective Special that is marked to the Rochester, New York Police Dept and so marked on the bottom of the butt.  This is a very nice all matching example with an excellent bore. This revolver was obtained from the great grandson of the Detective who carried it on the force.  

This pre-war Detective Special is the quintessential Film Noire pistol of the era, used by detectives in all those crime films and carried by others as well on both sides of the law.  This is a great link to that turbulent era.
