In 97% very sharp condition, we have a very early production Heinrich Ortgies Pistol in 7.65mm (32 auto) that is Wiemar Army 1920 property dated and police marked on the front Grip strap with a 1937 dated Nazi era Police holster that it was vet brought back in at the end of WWII. The marking on the front grip strap is not clear and appears to be overstruck, I think that this gun may have either been with the Berlin Police or possible the military judicial police. Both of these outfits were known to have been issued Ortgies Pistols. The pistol is all matching with a mint bore as well.
Almost all Ortgies Pistols found in North America were sold here commercially in the 1920’s. Not a large number of them were taken into Government service in Germany after WWI, so getting a marked example such as this is not at all common. This pistol will be of great interest to Nazi era Police Collectors and the price is quite moderate as well.
