IN 98% VERY CRISP CONDITION WE HAVE A SHARP LOOKING AND RARE DWM LP.08 1918 ARTILLERY LUGER. THIS COMES FULLY RIGGED OUT WITH A 1917 DATED HOLSTER WITH AN UN-NUMBERED MAGAZINE, MATCHING NUMBERED SHOULDER STOCK, THE TOOL AND CLEANING ROD. . THIS LUGER IS ALL MATCHING EXCEPT FOR THE PERIOD CORRECT UN-NUMBERED MAG AND HAS A MINT BORE. BY 1918 DUE TO WAR PRESSURE DWM PRODUCTION WAS LOOKING A LITTLE ROUGH WHEN THEY WENT OUT THE FACTORY DOOR AND THIS IS NO EXCEPTION. YOU WILL NOTICE THE LESS POLISHED FINISH AND MORE MACHINE MARKS. THE FINE TUNE SIGHTS ARE GONE AS WELL.
THIS IS REALLY A NICE LOOKING EXAMPLE OF A LATE WAR LUGER AND IT HAS ALL THAT YOU WOULD BE LOOKING FOR IN A LATE WAR DWM. 1918 DATED ARTILLERY LUGERS ARE HARD TO FIND, IT WAS THE LAST YEAR OF THE WAR AND PRODUCTION WAS ONLY 25% OF WHAT IT WAS IN 1917; LESS THAN 25,000 AS OPPOSED TO OVER 90,000 IN 1917…… SO THEY ARE RELATIVELY SCARCE AND HARD TO FIND. THIS PISTOL WAS LIKELY SOLD OFF AS SURPLUS TO THE STATES IN THE EARLY 1920’S IN ORDER TO COMPLY WITH THE TREATY OF VERSAILLES.
