In 97% condition, we have a very clean 1938 Colt Detective Special that was shipped to the New Jersey State Police in Trenton on November 18, 1938. This is a very nice all matching example with an excellent bore. Subsequently the revolvers were reshipped to George Harold in New York City, likely for the NYPD.
This pre-war Detective Special is the quintessential Film Noire pistol of the era, used by detectives in all those crime films and carried by others as well on both sides of the law. This is a great link to that era.
