Description

There are only a handful of these rather interesting pistols known to be in the countryThis is a Darra Pakistan, manufactured copy of the Soviet Makarov Service Pistol.  Guns such as this which are made in the tribal area of Pakistan that borders Afghanistan are commonly referred to as “Khyber Pass” Makarovs.  This is an excellent very well made copy of the famous Soviet Pistol and most people could not tell the two apart, however although this pistol was made by the hands of very skillful gunsmiths, it cannot be considered to be safe to shoot under any circumstances as you just do not know for certain what metals were used in its construction.

These pistols were made in small family owned gunshops in Darra to be sold to the Afghanistan Brigands, Talibans, and all other various sorts of these people who come and go across the border.  A nice Russian looking pistol such as this would certainly be a status symbol for a tribal elder.  We are not sure how this ended up here, it may have come in diplomatically or it may have comeback from our long intervention in the country which just recently came to an end.  If you collect Makarovs or want a souvenir from this wild area this is certainly a choice piece.
