In 97% original very sharp condition, All matching to include the original matching numbered & Imperial Proofed Stock, We have a Mauser M-1896/16 “Red 9” Broomhandle Pistol in 9m/m Luger caliber.  The bore is mint and the grips match too!  This also comes with the original 1917 dated Leather Stock Harness & Cleaning Rod.  This is a fairly early example that has the Red 9 added in the field. 

THIS IS THE FAMOUS RED NINE BROOMHANDLE, USED BY MACHINE GUN CREWS TO PROTECT THE GUNS AT CLOSE QUARTERS AND BY THE LEGENDARY STORM TROOPS IN THEIR FAST BRUTAL ASSAULTS THROUGH THE TRENCHES.  IN THE DAYS BEFORE VIABLE SUBMACHINE GUNS THIS WAS THE CLOSE QUARTER WEAPON OF CHOICE.  THIS IS MUCH NICER THAN YOU USUALLY SEE THESE AND THE STOCK IS ONE OF THE BEST WE HAVE COME ACROSS.  TRULY AN ICONIC WEAPON OF THE GREAT WAR
