Description

This is certainly one of the most interesting Luger pistols that we have seen from the standpoint of service use.  This is a definitive example of an early WW2 The double-sig rune insignia of the SS issued Luger Pistol.  This Luger has been reworked at least twice, It started out as a 1917 DWM Lange P.08 Artillery Luger, was reworked by Simson in the Wiemar era to a 4 inch Army Luger as evidenced by the “circle S marking, then it went through at least one Nazi era Hza depot rework.   This is exactly the type of pistol that would have been routed to the Waffen The double-sig rune insignia of the SS during the prewar and early war years.  While certainly not in mint condition you would not expect to see it in a well used example such as this and the value of the piece is due to the multiple reworkings and re-issues this pistol has seen.  Indeed this pistol has been carried to war by several generations of Germans and it is a witness to some terrible history.
