Description

In mint crisp totally factory original condition, we have a very interesting later war December 1944 Production Inland M-1 Carbine.  This carbine was built with a very interesting combination of features, it has the round bolt and other later production features but was still issued with an early production flip sight.  It is known that there were not enough of the New adjustable sights on hand at this time so a number of rifles even at this late date left the factory with the old flip sight.  Straight up M1 carbines in this range are not easy to locate as production was shifting to the full auto M-2 carbine during this period.  This carbine has an MR stamped on the left side of the butt above the sling hole and this is believed to be a USMC unit marking.  This is certainly a carbine that would have been in service for all of the Late Pacific battles such as Iwo Jima.
