In 95% condition, we have a late 1946-47 production French Modele 1935A Pistol fully fully rigged out with a modified holster to fit the pistol, 2 spare magazines and a box of original French Military ammunition. We were told that this came out of Vietnam sometime during the war there. The bore is excellent and the finish is original as well.
This is the first of the successful Petter designed pistols and it is chambered in the 7.65 Long French cartridge which is the identical cartridge originally intended for the US WWI pederson device. I think the primary reason for the adoption of this round was that it was very close to the original 8mm Lebel service revolver round. The French were satisfied with the effectiveness but needed that power in a more modern semi auto version. This pistol likely saw police or military service in Vietnam during the end of the French Colonial era.
