Description

In 98% mint crisp condition we have a US WWII issued Colt Commando revolver.  This is the standard issue model with a 4 inch barrel and chambered in .38 Special and was produced in 1943.  The bore is mint and the lockup is tight with little end shake.  The trigger pull is nice and smooth, this is a nice hardly used revolver that would be a really nice gun to shoot.

Per the Colt Letter:

Commando Model – 31844 – .38/c, 4”, Parkerized, Stocks not listed, Shipped to Northrop Aircraft, Inc., Northrop Field, Hawthorne, CA on December 8, 1943, 35 guns in shipment.

Processed on Colt Factory Order #3147.

These revolvers were widely issued to the OSS, Military intelligence, the FBI, Other Government agencies and Law Enforcement during the WWII era.  Many were also used to arm guards securing vital wartime factories and infrastructure.  A very widely used revolver indeed.
