Description

Here’s a MINT Rare early production WWII M1 Carbine that was manufactured by Underwood in about March, 1943.  It’s getting hard to find original carbines that haven’t been “put back” to original. This gun is a good one, NOT A RESTORATION. All parts are correct and nearly all are “.U.” Underwood marked. The barrel is dated 2-43 which is correct for the serial number range. All parts have their original finishes. The 2-position “flip” rear sight is correct and there are no stake marks in the dovetail indicating restoration. The barrel band is correct and original to the gun. There is some normal handling wear and some thinning to the original metal…The high wood/I-cut stock is in good shape with a visible U.E.F./G.H.D. inspection mark on the right side of the butt and the correct “RMC/F/T” markings in the sling slot. A single P proof is marked on the pistol grip. There are some various handling marks, dings and dents but no cracks. There is a chip gone from the edge of the pistol grip. It comes with an “IA” marked 15-round magazine, original “IU” marked oiler, and a good condition/original C-tip sling. A really good, original carbine!
