This rifle is from the lifetime collection of noted firearms historian and author Luke Mercaldo, and it was featured in his well know Reference book “Allied Rifle Contracts in America, 1914-1918″.  Along with the purchase of the rifle, you will receive a signed copy of the book, and a notarized letter of authenticity from the author. I cannot recall any firearm that we have handled where the author/consignor was that thoughtful and generous to include all of that information, especially in such a concise format. This rifle is pictured at the bottom on the cover of the book as well.Â
We have an excellent original condition Eddystone Remington Arsenal made British Army issued Pattern 14 rifle.  This rifle is still with the Volley sights and is completely factory original to include the matching numbered bolt and all properly marked parts.  This rifle is in original condition with the properly marked parts and beautiful walnut stock.  The best thing about this rifle is that it still has its volley sights intact and is still in the original WWI issued configuration.  These rifles were also pressed into service in the early days of WWII and are often seen with home guard units.
The P-14 Rifle was widely used on the western front by the British and it was highly regarded for sharpshooting and sniping. Although it was a bit heavy and ungainly it was certainly handier than most of the service rifles being used during WWI. It is rare to find one of these rifles so minty and well preserved. Â
