This is an extremely rare, one of two known examples of the Original Winchester Factory 1941 pre-production ordnance master drawing of the M1 Carbine. This is the print that would have been submitted to the U.S. Ordnance Department and the Senior management at Winchester, as the final adopted design. You will notice that this is for the earliest variation of the carbine and the print is so early it indicates that patents have been applied for but not yet granted. This framed drawing hung in the executive offices of Winchester in New Haven, Connecticut, and it measures 42 X 23 inches. Only one other copy is known to exist and I would consider it to be the holy grail of M1 carbine collecting, and as such belongs in a very advanced collection.
