Description

In very good  condition we have a hard to find early Nazi production all matching 1939 dated Mauser Oberndorf manufactured (42 code) K98k German WW2 Service rifle from the first year of the war.  The bore is excellent.  This is the standard early war configuration with the solid Walnut stock, the milled bands and the flat butt plate. Most 1939 production run had a laminated stock, however some were made with the more desirable walnut stock.  The rifle has a slightly sanded/cleaned stock but the cartouches are visible.  There is also a small patch of corrosion (blood pitting?) on the left side of the receiver, so the rifle is not perfect, but it is certainly collectible.  That being said we are pricing it over $1,000 less than we would if it was without these issues. This is pretty much the poster child for a 1939 WW2 98k production rifle as manufactured by the primary contractor, Mauser Oberndorf.  This is a great rifle for the beginning collector.
