Description

In 97-98% very sharp to mint condition, we have a very scarce and rarely ever seen Austrian Wiener Waffenfabrik  “Big” Little Tom Pistol in  7.65mm.  This is much rarer than the smaller 6.35mm Little Tom Pistol.  These rare pistols were designed by Alois Tomiška who later went on to work for CZ.  They are famous for two very notable things: the first being that this was the first practical double/single action pistol and the second being that they used an all brass magazine that could be loaded from the top or the bottom.  They were not commercially successful as the Walther PP a much more elegant design came out a few years later and wiped them out of the market.  The smaller .25 was much more well received and variations and improvements stayed in production for many decades, such as the Cz36 and Cz45.  This pistol is dated 1925 and was a vet bringback from WW2 and from the holster it was likely carried by an officer.  This is the only one of these pistols that we have had come into the firm and I expect it will be a long time before we get another one.
