In 99% new in the box un-issued condition, We have a prime example of an early 1944 production Ithaca M1911a1 Pistol. This pistol according to Ithaca factory shipping records was sent to the Supply Officer, Naval Supply Depot, Oakland California on March 3, 1944. Copies of the records come with the pistol. This is the textbook correct shipping box still with one wrapped magazine. The gun is still heavily encrusted with cosmoline. You will notice that this is the “meet in the middle” shipping box that was used only with Ithaca made pistols. If you are a serious collector of US martial pistols you will know how hard it is to find original boxed WW2 1911a1 pistols. This is a rare and outstanding example and a US Navy issued Ithaca that never got issued at all………
