This is the second rarest of the Nazi Police Mauser Banner Luger Pistols with only 850 estimated to have been made and less than 30 known to exist. In 98% MINT SHARP condition, all matching to include BOTH the original factory matching numbered magazines and a holster than is STILL labeled to match the pistol, EXACTLY AS IT WAS BROUGHT BACK FROM EUROPE, we have an Ultra Rare 1939 Mauser Banner Police “Eagle K” marked Luger Pistol.  This is a textbook example that falls right into the known serial range of these pistols.  There were 25,000 Mauser Banner Police Lugers procured but only 850 were ever 1939 dated with the exceptionally rare Police “Eagle K” marking. This is an all matching textbook example with a mint bore and it comes with the original named and numbered holster and a police marked tool.  The label inside the holster is hard to read but it appears to identify an officer and police unit in Kolkheim. I have no doubt that there are advanced Police collectors who could decipher the tag. This is a serious Luger for a serious Luger collector and certainly the most awesome Mauser Banner Police Luger we have ever had the privilege of offering. Saw your intersting offering. The label reads:
Basch
Hauptwachtmeister d. Schutzpolizei d. Reich
Kelkheim im Tanus
Kelkheim was a very small town of a few over 4600 population. Basch was a member of the Reserve police called up with the start of the war to supplement the forces. I would say he was assigned to a police battalion and given the P08. No other info can be garnered from the label. It is VERY unlikely any info can be found on Basch, Hauptwachtmeister was a senior Sgt. that would be top NCO in a platoon of a Police Battalion of 500 men.
