Description

This is a very important gun for the serious and advanced 98K collector and Luftwaffe collector.  In mint condition, we have an all matching Luftwaffe issued Luftamt 2 marked Luftwaffe depot assembled/rebuilt 1938 27 code Erma Werk made K98k Mauser Service Rifle.  These rifles were assembled out of a combination of new parts, damaged rifles and a combination of both.  They were built rebuilt as new rifles and this example is mint and all matching.  The best analogy is that these are the rifle version of the Luftwaffe kü Lugers.  These rifles were assembled in 1941-1942 at the time of the well known small arms shortage in the German Armed forces brought about by the malaise from the early victories in 1939-40 crashing head long into the 1941 Russian Invasion which just ate up men and their equipment.  This is an exceptionally interesting and beautiful Mauser; for those of you who are not aware I have a fairly extensive personal collection of Standard Modell through 1942 Mauser 98k rifles and I really liked this piece a lot.  It really floats my boat for a variety of reasons.
