Description

In 96% excellent condition, 100% matching and factory original and correct, we have an exceptionally rare and almost never seen 1942 US Navy Contract Colt 1911a1 US Army Service Pistol that was shipped DIRECTLY to the United States Naval Supply Depot in Sewalls Point, VA on July 24, 1942.  In 1942, Only around 3900 1911a1 pistols were sent straight to the Navy and they were the last Colt 1911A1 pistols EVER shipped directly to the Navy.  Only 1,591 of these pistols went to Norfolk.  The pistol is of course matching, and the bore of the original Colt “G” marked barrel is mint.

In 1942 Colt produced 107,790 1911a1 Pistols and only 3,982 were shipped directly to the US Navy making these pistols nearly impossible to locate.  When you also factor in those that were lost at sea probably just a small number have survived and only a handful this original and nice.

It is no understatement to say that this pistol was at the Tip of the Spear of the Mighty US Navy in WWII; THIS PISTOL WAS ABSOLUTLEY IN HARMS WAY!!!

These WW2 US Navy Colts are highly sought after by collectors and rarely ever show up for sale and never in this top condition.  Absolutely the most highly sought-after WWII production Colt.  Especially in this hot market, do not let this slip your grasp!
