In 96% condition, we have an early 1942 production Smith & Wesson .38/200 caliber Victory Model Revolver. This was issued through Lend Lease to the British Army and is so marked. This is not import marked. This revolver was shipped in large numbers to the Commonwealth and they were the standard issued side arm of the Australian Army in WW2.
This was a superior pistol the the No.2 MkI* Enfield Revolver that was the main issued sidearm of the British during the war and was very well liked by end users in the field. The only complaint was that the cartridge was of low power, but you had a far better chance of actually hitting your target with this revolve than the double action only Enfield revolvers being fielded at the time. These revolvers were used by all of the Commonwealth countries in WW2, but finding a British used example is a little un-common as you often see Australian marked examples.
