In 97% mint new condition, we have an ULTRA RARE, with only 850 estimated to so marked 1939 Mauser Banner Nazi Police Eagle/K marked P.08 Luger Pistol. This is all matching including the magazine and the bore is excellent. 1939 Eagle/k Police Banner Lugers are the 2nd scarcest variation; there were only 850 of this variant made out of nearly 20k banner police Lugers and you just will not find one in this barely used condition. This is completely matching down to the factory original magazine and I would imagine that just a handful exist that are equal or better to this example.
During the Early stages of the War in Europe the Nazi Police apparatus was rapidly expanded to control the population of the occupied countries and to combat sabotage and resistance. The years 1938-42 saw a rapid buildup of Police Cadres and a rapid procurement of weapons to arm them. While the vast majority of pistols issued were 7.65 pocket pistols, large caliber 9mm handguns were needed especially for anti-partisan operations. This Luger is a wonderful piece of history from this turbulent period.
