Description

In very good all matching condition, with a decent bore, we have a great example of the German Army issue WW1 Gewehr 98 Service rifle.  This example is 1917 dated and was made by the C.G. Haenel, Suhl an extremely rare and seldom seen maker.  The rifle is all matching down even to the screws which we do not see very often.  .  The stock is really nice on this rifle and you can still even see the cartouches on the beechwood stock.  If you are looking for a really nice example of the famous German WW1 Mauser rifle for your collection this is a great choice.  Finding nice Gew 98 rifles is not easy and they just never show up this nice and matching.  This is the perfect rifle to have in your hands next time you watch “All Quiet on the Western Front” It will make you feel like you are in the trenches!  Finding a matching Gew 98 is at least twice as hard as finding a matching 98k.  If you are on the hunt for a great German WW1 rifle this is it.
