In 96% very nice condition, we have the rarest of the Colt Military Issued Pocket Hammerless pistols, one of the 200 1903 Colt’s that was shipped to the United States Navy Yard in Washington, DC on September 29, 1917. These Pistols were likely issued to Naval Intelligence Officers, and Possibly to early Naval Aviation as well. These would have been the only pistols on Hand for Naval Intelligence Officers during the interwar period and the beginning of WWII.
Of this single batch of 200 pistols that were shipped to the Navy, only 6 have ever come to light; the others probably were lost in service during both World Wars. This is one of the most sought after Navy issued sidearms and known examples almost never come up for sale.
