Description

In excellent reworked condition with an excellent bore, we have a WWII rebuilt EDDYSTONE M-1917 Enfield Service Rifle.  This rifle bears the inspection cartouche of  the famous and noted Gun Writer Elmer Kieth.  This is a mixture of parts from all three contractors and has of course been parkerized and brought up to WWII specifications.  The M-1917 was the primary American Service Rifle of WWI but was criticized for being heavy and a bit awkward.  By WWII it was faced out of frontline use in the US Army but was often carried by MP’s and those in non critical sectors.  It was however in heavy combat use with the Free French, the Chinese and other allied forces.  This is a great example of what you might have been issued if you were assigned to the Coastal Artillery.
