sThis is AN EXCELLENT CONDITION ALL MATCHING example of a Pre Fall of France, June, 1940 production French Service Rifle, The MAS Mle 1936. It is all matching and has a stunningly beautiful walnut buttstock. This was a WW2 U.S. vet bring back and was likely captured and in use by German or Vichy Forces, Perhaps it may even have seen Service in the hands of the Free French or the Maquis.
The MAS Mle 1936 chambered in 7.5 French is a very stout and well made compact rifle with very coarse easy to see sights, it would be a great rifle for use under 150 yards and its quite handy. Its completely matching and appears to have seen little actual use. This is a great example of the main French WW2 era Service Rifle and an extremely attractive example at that, one which saw action in the early stages of WWII in Europe.
