We consider this to be a real find, an icon for the WWI collector. In 97%+ exceptional condition, we have a Belgian Army accepted crown/FJ proofed FN Model 1900 Pistol. This pistol is from the final June 1914 shipment to the Belgian Army just 2 months prior to the outbreak of WWI in August of 1914. Considering its age and history the pistol is a true pristine survivor, it is all matching with a mint bore, it truly lived a charmed life in service. These pistols just never ever turn up and this example is almost unique considering the state of preservation.
If you have read the book “The guns of August” by Barbara Tuchman this artifact will cry out to you to own it. Some of the most savage fighting of the early war occurred in Belgium as the Germans overran the Belgian Forts. This gun was certainly carried by a senior officer during these momentous days.
