Description

There is no question that the 1937-1941 Blued Military Colt 1911A1 pistols are the most sought after military pistols of the 20th Century; very few were made and most did not survive WWII, at least not intact.  This example is about as nice as you can expect to see in an 80 year old pistol that was in harms way.

In 1940 Colt produced 4,696 of them and this pistol is from the first 1940 shipment that was sent to Springfield Armory on April 18, 1940.  The gun is in 98+% original mint crisp condition and is 100% factory original and correct.  The slide is matching numbered to the pistol and the barrel is the correct Colt small G military barrel in excellent.   The condition of this pistol is very high and we have rarely ever seen nicer looking examples.  These pistols bring outrageous prices at auctions and here is your chance to pick one up at a very sound price.  I can think of no better place to park cash.
