This is an original 95% condition very early production Remington Rand 1911a1 Pistol.  The serial number 917895 puts it in the December,1942 2nd month of productionThis is pistol the 1490th produced at Remington Rand  and is one of the earliest known surviving pistols in original condition.  You will of course note the use of the very rare first type Slide Logo with New York spelled out, which is the most sought after variant of less than 4% of production have this feature .  This pistol has the well known features commonly encountered with the early initial production Rem Rands such as the upside down ordnance stamp, the milled trigger, the Keyes no ring grips and the dulite sandblasted blue finish. This pistol also has the factory original Springfield Armory supplied barrel and a Colt supplied hammer, features common for these very early production guns.   As you can certainly conclude for yourself this is a unique opportunity to claim ownership of one of the rarest and earliest surviving Remington Rand pistol made for WW2.
