sold – VERY SCARCE byf 44 K98k ZF41 DESIGNATED MARKSMAN RIFLE…….ALL MATCHING & VERY SHARP!

In excellent all matching condition, we have a very rare and highly desirable byf 44 coded (Mauser Oberndorf)  Mauser K98k Rifle that has been factory configured into a zf41 designated marksman rifle (we used to call these sharp shooter rifles). These are most often seen on byf 44 Mauser platforms but they are rare as hen’s teeth!. The rifle is all matching and mint with all the cartouches very clear and no messing with the stock.  The optics in the “fzg” coded (Feinmechnik GmgH, Kassel)  Zf41 scope are very clear and usable and the rifle is still sighted in.  As small and strange as this scope looks to our modern eyes, it does certainly give you an edge over the iron sights and I can see why they did issue this rifle.  It is very easy to use and the sight picture is not as small as you would think and it is very quick to acquire your target.  It certainly would increase your hit probability under open conditions. These rifles are are highly sought after and this is a top condition example.
