Description

In excellent all matching condition, we have an extremely desirable, very rare manufacturer, April, 1941 Podolsk Mechanical Factory NKOM made SVT-40 Tokarev Semi-Auto Rifle This ALL MATCHING rifle was a WW2  G.I vet bring back, it is not import marked, nor is it SA Finnish Army marked.   There cannot be more than a small handfull if that many Poldolsk rifles in this state of originality in North America.  Very typical of what you see on the German captured and reissued examples. The stock still bears the original Podolsk facotry cartouches and has not been sanded and all parts are correctly marked.  The bore is more than decent.

The Podolsk Mechanical Factory was located on the outskirts of Moscow.  It was set up by the American Singer Sewing Machine Company in 1901.  In October of 1941 it went under control of the Military and became NKV Factory No. 460.   Due to the German invasion this factory ceased rifle production in late 1941.  The machinery was re-located to the Urals and the rifle making machinery transferred to other factories.  This Podolsk SVT 40  Rifle is one of the unicorns of WW2 and Soviet weapon collecting and this is a great example to own.
