Description

In 98% mint crisp condition we have a fairly early August, 1943 Production Ithaca 1911a1 US Army Service Pistol.  This pistol is 100% correct and factory original and the bore is mint.  It was just found in a duffle bag in a house in New Jersey where the Grandfather had served in WW2, so it is fresh out of the woodwork.  This is a very interesting early Ithaca for a number of reasons; it is one of the very first pistols that was parkerized and it still features much of the hallmarks of early production at Ithaca such as the lack of a factory Quality control inspection mark on the left front triggerguard web.  This pistol was shipped to the Raritan Arsenal in New Jersey and would have been sent to arm troops fighting in Europe.  If you are looking for an example of the Pistol made in Ithaca, New York, this is a real peach!
