In 97% excellent condition, we have an extremely desirable 1909 production FN model 1900 pistol that is inscribed to an officer of the elite Westphalian 5th Uhlan Regiment. Pistols such as this that can be identified to an individual and to a unit are that fought in WWI are nearly impossible to locate. To add significantly to the allure of this pistol is the fact that it was carried by an officer of the Westphalian 5th Uhlan Regt that played an important role in the 1914 initial German invasion of Belgium and France, screening on the extreme right flank of the German Army as it hurtled towards the Marne. shortly after the stalemate that followed the Regiment went east and helped to Capture Vilnius from the Russians. And participated in any battles in the east before returning to the Western front to Participate in the final German 1918 offensive.
The pistol is in extremely fine condition with an excellent bore and considering all the history that it has seen it is in incredible shape. If you are a serious collector of WWI era small arms this is an extremely significant and desirable artifact.
