SOLD IMPORTANT & ULTRA RARE COLT US AIR FORCE AIRCREWMAN REVOLVER, A.F. N0. 456, WITH COLT LETTER! STRAIGHT TO THE KOREAN WAR IN 1951!

In factory original condition, we have an exceptionally rare and seldom seen U.S. Air Force marked Colt Aircrewman Revolver.  This revolver is U.S. Air Force marked on the rear grip strap and it is marked A.F. NO. 456 on the butt.  Still with the original holster too!  The revolver is 100% factory original and a totally correct textbook example.  Probably the best part of this revolver is the story that is told by the Colt Factory records.  According to the Colt Letter (which is included), it went straight to the Korean Conflict!

The pistol Went to the Port Transportation Officer, San Francisco Port of Embarkation, San Francisco, CA on November 13, 1951…..150 Gun shipment.  Also furnished with Shoulder holsters that were provided by the Government.

The Colt M13 Aircrewman came in at a featherlight 11 ounces! Colt made just 1189 of these guns in 1950-51. Records from Colt show that some 1,123 were shipped to the US Air Force from 12/21/1950- 4/15/1952, making these pistols incredibly rare.

Because of the fragility of the aluminum alloy cylinder many of these guns suffered catastrophic failures.  In 1959 they were withdrawn from service and ordered to be destroyed and nearly all of them were scrapped.  As you probably are aware of, it is fairly well known among collectors that only between 25 and no more than 50 of these revolvers still remain in existence. If you are a U.S. Martial handgun collector you are aware that this is even rarer than a Singer and they are certainly becoming as well known in collector circles as well, and this is a very rare opportunity to add this historical pistol to your collection!!!
