Description

This is a non import marked totally matching 1941 dated Late Portuguese Contract Mauser K98k rifle that was diverted to the German Army during WW2.   The condition is excellent minus.  It has been carried a bit, but the bore is mint.  These rifles were part of a contract order of 98k rifles for Portugal that Mauser was fulfilling during 1941.  Why many of these rifles were sent to Lisbon, the last of them ended up getting diverted into the German Army to help replenish arms beoing used up in the Invasion of the Soviet Union. This example was a vet bringback and is in fine shape.  These rifles are highly sought after by collectors and have long been associated with the Russian Front even though they certainly could be found on any front in Europe.
