Here is something you just rarely see these days, an intact grouping of War Trophies still with the bringback papers. In excellent condition, we have a 1944 pattern Japanese Army Officer’s Shin Gunto Sword. This is a 26 inch long oil tempered blade in mint condition made by Yoshi Mitsu. This is mounted in the 1944 pattern Shin Gunto fittings. A very mint example of the later war variant of the most sought after war trophy of the Pacific theater. Also on the capture papers were this very well marked set of field glasses in the case with the strap. The optics are quite clear.
Lt. Schneider was assigned to the Provost Marshall Corps and he sent a load of war trophies back home. There is another group of items we will list as well on another set of papers. Its remarkable that these things are still intact after all of these years.
