Description

In 99% stored in box condition, we have an Outstanding  Waldemar Broberg Inspected  Colt Service Model Ace .22lr Pistol still in the original matching box with several giblets including the Service Model Ace Hang Tag which alone would pull $750.   This pistol, number 2746 was shipped to the Commanding Officer,  Springfield Armory on Jan 10, 1942 barely a month after Pearl Harbor!   Less than 4,000 blued models were made before the change to the Parkerized finish.  These extremely rare and highly sought after pistols were the first to incorporate the “floating chamber” invented by David “Carbine” Williams which increased the recoil to adequately simulate the recoil of the .45 service pistol. These pistols were in constant service for many years training recruits how to shoot so they are rarely ever found in any decent condition, indeed this example is well above average.  This is one of the most highly sought after Colt military pistols and they are few and far betweenTo locate an example in this condition is the ultimate find.
