In 96% very sharp condition, we have a Heinrich Ortgies Pistol in 7.65mm (32 auto) that is marked to the Bahn Schutz, the German Railways Police Apparatus active during WWI through WWII and even postwar. Based upon the style of marking, this pistol went into service in the late 1920’s and would have been used at least until the end of WWII. The pistol is all matching with a mint bore as well.
Almost all Ortgies Pistols found in North America were sold here commercially in the 1920’s. Not a large number of them were taken into Government service in Germany after WWI, so getting a marked example such as this is not at all common. This pistol will be of great interest to Nazi era Police and Railway Collectors and the price is quite moderate as well.
