In new in the box condition and circa around 1980, we have an extremely scarce Walther PP Super pistol in 9mm Kurz or .380 auto. Only around 1000-1100 of these pistols were imported by Interarms in this caliber. You are probably aware that the PP super was an early 1970’s West German Police pistol is the now obsolete caliber of 9×18 ULTRA. The idea behind this was to extract as much power possible out of a blowback design, not unlike the Soviet 9×18 Makarov which was successful.
The problem the German Police had with the PP Super Pistol was called the Bader Mienhoff gang and the Red Army Faction; you just need more than a blowback to shoot terrorists. There was a very rapid up gunning from PP’s to 9mm sidearms, thus causing the dumping of a large number of 9×18 Ultra pistols on the US market. These poor unwanted guns are still floating around for sale, and the only ammo obtainable is very expensive RWS. This Particular PP Super was chambered in .380 auto but it was not a commercial success because it was a service pistol with a not particularly potent chambering and it was expensive.
If you collect Post war Walthers or really love .380 auto then this pistol would be of interest to you. Certainly one of the most accurate and mild shooting pistols you will see in .380.
