In very crisp condition we have an early 1943 production US Military issued Winchester Model 97 Trench Shotgun. This is a later production variant with the 4 hole heat shield and the GHD inspection cartouche. This shotgun is the real deal it is not a rebuilt riot gun. It comes with a mint BoyT leather sling as well.
This is one of the most sought-after long arms of WWII and its employment in the Pacific Theater is a USMC legend, often called the “one inch tench mortar”. This one certainly looks like it tore off a few soldiers heads in the jungles of the South Pacific! This is a very solid example that has seen just some slight use but no abuse.
